“Consider the work of God; For who can make straight what He has made crooked?”
Ecclesiastes 7:13
There should be no fighting against the Lord and the way He has directed your life. Sure we may have made a wrong turn here and there, or even time and time again, but the Lord knows the crooked way from the straight and narrow.
Consider the story of the prodigal son. One son went and lived in the world and took all the wrong paths in life. Whereas the other lived the straight and narrow yet was still upset with his father when the brother returned home again. The brother in the world found himself up a crooked creek without a paddle. But the Lord can make our way straight again. He is to walk upright with him on this narrow path of life.
“Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth;”
Isaiah 40:4 NKJV
So whether we are traveling down a straight narrow path, or wandering the crooked creek the Lord wants you to be blameless, and walk in the light of his truth.
“that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,”
Philippians 2:15 NKJV
The preacher in Ecclesiastes May have had a grim outlook on life because of his condition and situation. But the Lord has always wanted us to always walk straight towards the Lord. Whether He turns to the left or the right he desires us to follow him. So the preacher has it partially right doesn’t he? The Lord May have made our way crooked. But he would never leave us up a creek without a paddle. His conclusion of the whole matter is to fear God and keep his commandments.
Pay your vows brothers. Be content with the things you have. Live joyfully with the wife whom you love ask the days of your vain life. Good have you those days, so live them.
